Yes, You Can Wash Your RV, Boat, Trailer, or Motorcycle at Classic Carwash — Here's How!

Here's something drivers in Leavenworth, Fort Leavenworth, Lansing, Atchison and Kansas City, KS and may not realize: our Classic Carwash locations? They're also an RV wash. A boat wash. A trailer wash. A motorcycle wash. Our oversized self-serve bays were designed to handle vehicles that won't fit anywhere else — including one bay at our North location with absolutely no size restrictions at all. Zero.

If you've been hosing down your RV in the driveway, hauling your boat home from a day on the Missouri River still caked in algae, or wishing your motorcycle would somehow clean itself — this guide is for you. Here's exactly how to wash each vehicle type safely and efficiently at either of our two Classic Carwash locations in Leavenworth.

Bay Clearances at a Glance

Before you pull in, know your numbers. Here's what we can accommodate at each location:

Location Standard Bays XL/Oversized Bays Automatic Washes
Classic Carwash South 10' clearance 14' clearance (1 bay) Up to 7' tall
Classic Carwash North 10' clearance Open Air (no height restriction) Up to 7' tall (touchfree) & 7'6" tall (soft-touch)

No size restrictions at Classic Carwash North. The open-air bay on the east end of our Metropolitan Ave. location has no enclosure — meaning there's no height limit, no width limit, no length limit. If you can drive it there, you can wash it.

Still unsure if your rig fits? Our FAQ page has full clearance details for both locations, or give us a call before you make the trip.

Washing Your RV or Motorhome

Kansas highways are no picnic for big rigs. Between spring mud off I-70, summer bug splatter on the turnpike, and the road grime that builds up on any vehicle that spends time near Fort Leavenworth's main gates, a motorhome collects serious filth before it ever reaches the campground. Our oversized bays give you the space and the pressure to handle it all — without wrestling a garden hose in your driveway for two hours.

  • Before you pull in: Fold in extended side mirrors. Remove any bike racks, hitches, or exterior attachments that protrude beyond the body of the vehicle. Fully close all windows, vents, and slideouts.

  • Start with the Pre-Soak setting to dissolve road grime and bug protein across the entire surface before scrubbing
  • Use the Foamy Brush attachment on the sidewalls — work from the roofline down in sections
  • Rinse with Spot-Free Rinse to prevent hard-water mineral spotting on windows and trim
  • Apply Clear Coat Protectant to painted surfaces to fight UV fading between trips
  • Pay extra attention to the front cap and windshield — that's where Kansas insect populations leave their mark

Washing Your Boat or Boat Trailer

Whether you're coming off the Leavenworth State Fishing Lake, Wyandotte County Lake, or the Missouri River, your boat and trailer need a rinse before they go back in the garage. Lake algae, fish residue, and mineral deposits don't just look bad — they etch fiberglass and corrode trailer metal if left to sit.

  • Remove all electronics, fish finders, and removable seat cushions before you start
  • Use the Wheel & Tire Cleaner on trailer wheels and the axle frame to cut brake dust and lake-water corrosion
  • Use medium pressure on the fiberglass hull — keep the wand moving and avoid blasting caulked seams directly
  • Rinse the full trailer frame, tongue, and coupler to flush mineral deposits and road salt
  • Leave the drain plug open so wash water exits the bilge completely before you trailer home

Washing Work Trucks, Trailers & Service Vehicles

Contractors, landscapers, and fleet operators across Leavenworth, Lansing and the Kansas City metro: our Fleet Wash Program was built for exactly this. Issue multiple fleet cards to your drivers, run every vehicle through either location, and receive one detailed monthly statement with a full breakdown by driver and service. No more per-wash billing headaches.

  • Remove hitches, toolbox overhangs, or roof racks that extend beyond the factory truck body before entering automatic bays
  • Use the open-air North bay for any trailer, equipment hauler, or service vehicle over standard height
  • Pre-Soak is especially effective on construction mud, concrete residue, and agricultural grime that standard pressure alone won't break down
  • Finish with Clear Coat Protectant to keep company vehicles looking sharp and professional on job sites and in client parking lots

Washing Your Motorcycle

Motorcycles are absolutely welcome in our covered self-serve bays — and with a few straightforward precautions, you'll get a showroom finish without risking any damage. The golden rule is low pressure and proper sequencing.

  • Let the engine cool for at least 10–15 minutes before washing — thermal shock can warp or crack engine components
  • Plug your exhaust outlet to keep water out of the system entirely
  • Use low pressure only — never aim the wand directly at electrical connections, wheel bearings, or air intakes
  • Apply the degreaser setting to the engine case and drivetrain instead of soap and water
  • Cover or avoid spraying leather saddlebags and seats — water damage to leather is hard to reverse
  • Finish with Spot-Free Rinse to eliminate water spots on chrome, painted fairings, and polished aluminum

Pro Tips That Apply to Every Vehicle

  • We're open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Both Leavenworth locations run around the clock, so you can pull in after a weekend trip to Smithville Lake at 10 p.m. or tackle your fleet trucks before a 6 a.m. job site visit — no waiting, no scheduling.
  • Tap to pay, every bay. Classic Carwash accepts credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay at all bays and most vacuums. Load a Classic Carwash gift card online and earn 20% rewards cash back every time you reload — easily the best deal for anyone washing a fleet or a large vehicle multiple times a season.
  • Maximize your bay time. Start the pre-soak running on the dirtiest panels while you prep your brush and supplies. Work top to bottom — roof, sides, wheels, undercarriage — so dirty runoff never re-soils a section you've already cleaned. Our South location's shampoo and spot-remover vacuums are perfect for finishing the interior once the exterior is done.
  • Road salt is the real enemy. Kansas winters are hard on undercarriages, and the freeze-thaw cycle on Leavenworth roads accelerates corrosion. The rinse settings on our wash menu are specifically designed to flush salt buildup from wheel wells and frame components — the single highest-impact thing you can do to extend the life of any vehicle you're running through Kansas winters.

Your big rig deserves a classically clean wash.
